5th Grade Zoom Presentation

Illustrator Aliza Horowitz and I enjoyed zooming with DC Public School's Brightwood Elementary in March.  The kids asked thoughtful questions and were eager to share with us some drawings they worked on for one of Aliza's interactive activities.  They even gave me a good idea for my next book! Thanks so much to Brightwood Elementary's media specialist, Kathleen O'Donnell, for all of her help fitting us into the fifth grade's busy schedule!

4th and 5th Grade Class Visits

Illustrator Aliza Horowitz and I had a fantastic time speaking to Milton Gottesman Jewish Day School's 4th and 5th graders (in person!) The kids asked great questions and were very creative in their responses - especially about how they would "draw magic."  Thanks to Victoria Rothenberg and Laurie Brumberg for making this happen!

People of the Book

Milton Gottesman Jewish Day School invited illustrator (and alum) Aliza Horowitz and I to speak as part of their "People of the Book" series for adults.  We discussed The Tuddleby Trait, Aliza's creative process, and our collaboration.  Turnout was great and we received some really wonderful  comments from those who attended.  We are so appreciative to Milton for giving us this opportunity!

Author Hour at The TraRon Center

I was excited to participate in an "Author Hour" at The TraRon Center in Ward 8.  The TraRon Center sponsors programs for children who have been impacted by gun violence.  During Author Hour, I did some reading from The Tuddleby Trait and so did the kids.  We talked about what was happening in the book, they asked great questions and were about as enthusiastic as I could hope for.   Thank you, Ryane Nickens and The TraRon Center for inviting me to come!
